Osteopathy uses palpation and manual techniques to treat muscles, joints, nerves, connective tissue and other structures of the human body in order to facilitate its ability to restore and maintain good health. It is recognized by the WHO and regulated in several countries as complementary and alternative medicine in Health.
It can help in acute or long-term conditions. All ages can receive osteopathic treatment, from pregnancy to babies, adults and old people, because the approach is focused on the individual rather than the disease.
What can be treated? Joint pain in general, muscular pains and strains, sprains (without fractures or tendons ruptures), arthritic pains, tension or migraine headaches, sciatica and spinal pain as a whole, among other problems.
Visits are 60-minute long and can be weekly or fortnightly according to the individual’s condition. The osteopath chooses the technique that best fits for the treatment: musculoskeletal, visceral or cranial.
